On June 17, 2020, just a few weeks after the murder of George Floyd, Dr. Ken Price, together with Michael Nila, Founder of Blue Courage LLC, launched a series of webinars to start a renewed and public conversation on Police Culture or ‘Blue Culture’.

The purpose of the series of webinars was to take an anthropological approach to studying police culture in the United States.

The webinar series is launched with a quote by Dr. Stephen Covey: “The actions of a police officer in an instant can impact a person for life and communities for generations.” Michael Nila expands on this in his introduction saying that ‘We now know that the action of a police officer in 8 minutes and 46 seconds can impact the entire world’.

Embarking on this web series Dr. Price, Principal of KLPA, emphasizes that Culture in itself and then the Police Culture (Blue Culture) need to be understood before intentional cultural leadership can become an agent for change. The webinars were titled “Exploring Blue Culture” and a total of 11 sessions were broadcasted between June 17, 2020 and July 28, 2020.

The recordings of the webinars are available through the KLPA YouTube Channel.

Since 2020, Dr. Price has continued to work with Blue Courage LLC and with several Police Departments on their Culture Renewal Journeys. We are looking forward to sharing more about upcoming projects here soon.
